Youngstown Elser Metro Airport (4G4)

In 1989 I purchased the Youngstown Elser Metro Airport located in North Lima, Ohio. This airport had slipped into terrible disarray in the years prior to our acquisition. There were only five aircraft based here. We set to work installing a new 4010′ paved runway, new runway lights, a fuel farm, several new T-hangars, a new maintenance hangar, ramps, taxiways, and driveways. The work transformed an old, run-down airport into a model General Aviation facility for the surrounding area.

Today there are over 50 aircraft based here, all in hangars. We employ seven full time aircraft mechanics, two part time mechanics, one full time and three part time line service personnel, one full time secretary and one part time office assistant.

We are an FAA approved avionics facility, which allows us to service all types of aircraft. We maintain the entire spectrum of general aviation aircraft from small piston singles, piston twins, light and heavy turbines, and light and medium size business jets.

Gemco Aviation Services

I started Gemco Aviation in 1977 with a goal of providing professional aircraft maintenance services to aircraft owners in northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Those good people have helped build our airport and aviation service business into a wonderful Mahoning Valley success story.

We maintain the entire Beechcraft line, from the venerable Beech Staggerwing, to the entire Bonanza series, (including the oldest flying Bonanza in the world) and on up to the Beech King Air cabin-class turboprop twins.

We also maintain most Cessna models including the 400-series piston twins, Citation, Citation II, CitationJet, Bravo, Citation III and VII.

Gemco Aviation is a 3-time FAA Diamond Award Maintenance Facility. From small single-engine aircraft through the Beech King Air and Cessna Citation series of business jets, we can keep you flying.

We have an excellent reputation for uncompromising quality on every aircraft that we maintain. Our staff of mechanics and inspectors look forward to servicing your aircraft.
